My works are printed by hand not with a printing press. I use a water based ink which is softer than the oil based ink. I print them by hand with a simple spoon or a wooden circular wood .This is perhaps an old fashioned technique for prints of this size. In this way by printing by hand not a single copy is exactly like the other. They may seem the same but according to the way I rub or press the spoon or wood they change, getting different marks textures etc.

This gives warmth and individuality to the copies. The plastic or linoleum material I use is also an element of flat and even surface which allows me to print flat and solid blacks. This fact together with the use of simple and clear shapes is ideal for my intention of creating simple, direct works and to express the maximum with the least complicated technique. The colours I use are in general black and white, the maximum and minimum colours. Black and white are elements that are at the same time opposites and complimentary. How to find a composition that is at the same time simple, clear and direct and that can give my work the expressive strength that I wish it to have is the challenge I face.
