27 November, 2008 Charles Cham (Malaysia)
Faces To Figures - His works play heavily with the "duality of life"; his double faces are equally unbalanced, mirror emotions are depicted, his signature appears top and bottom of every painting, colour opposites are used side by side… Even his attitude to his work is a balanced equation "I believe that drawing is thinking and painting is feeling. Therefore, I draw what I think and paint what I feel".
06 November, 2008 Zhang Jie (China)
Dialogue Between Mountain & Clouds
14 October, 2008 German Wave - Group exhibition of 4 contemporary German artists namely Juergen Friede (sculpture), Michael Laube (screenprint on acrylic glass), Juergen Lang (lithograph) and Uwe Kirsch (acrylic painting).
16 September, 2008 Maung Aw (Burma)
People & Landscapes of Burma - The artists' "kids" are from the Pa-O tribe; their head scarves reflecting the bright colours of Burma. The highly contrasting colour palatte is at odds with the artist’s gentle and unassuming personality while at the same time it connects his work in a consistent and distinctive manner. He has depicted a very unique aura in his landscape which can be surreal at times.
22 July, 2008 Nyein Chan Su (Burma)
The Real & The Mythical - The artist took several documentary photographs and made vinyls from them. Once they were completed, the artist painted on top of them 'collaborating to the dance.' The resulting works shows great communication, interaction and significance between the layers.
05 June, 2008 Soft is the Colour - This body of work persists in her exploration of the secrets and charm of the Mongolian person. Xue says that although she grew up in Mongolia, she does not yet understand the 'soft that lies under the strong and distinct faces.'
29 April, 2008 Wet - Wet is a series of paintings exhibiting the joy and luxury of having water. This enjoyment can be for the simple convenience of washing or for the sensual pleasure of submerging oneself into its cool mass and enjoying the weightlessness.
27 March, 2008 Htein Lin (Burma)
The Cell - The works in this exhibition are inspired by the artist's experience in prison in Burma. Htein Lin was released from jail in 2004. He sees himself as an artist, not a political activist.
21 February, 2008 Nay Myo Say (Burma)
Unmasked - This collection affords the artist the luxury of intertwining two favoured themes resulting in a supportive yet dominating image of women complemented by a strong presence of Myanmar spirit.
15 January, 2008 Min Wae Aung 'Monks' (Burma)
Portraits by Min Wae Ayung - Well known internationally for capturing imaginations with his contemporary graphic portrayal of Burmese monks and nuns, Min Wae Aung’s latest show travels through Burmese villages to unveil the simple beauty of Burmese tribal people and their way of life.
