Colouring Book started as an exercise to practice colour mixing. It went on painting on top of found newspaper advertisements, an existing graphic design that allows me to mix a specific colour. By repeating this exercise, it’s not difficult to see tactics of how advertisers analyse and act upon our psychologies, as a viewer/consumer. It became an exercise that explored my so-called free will, it almost reverse engineers how advertising works as a form of manipulation, when I consume or see adverts in different forms and mediums on a daily basis.
