The codex format of bookbinding has developed over centuries for effective circulation of books, and wider communication of idea and knowledge.
“How to Read” is a series of drawings of possible / impossible ways of bookbinding, that may dictate or open up ways of reading and the navigation of pages. It invites, on one hand, the author to create the content to be read in a certain way that the binding accommodates, on the other hand poses technical challenges to the bookbinder to realize the book-object.
