The new works in Art Central is a continuation of my playful spirit in the ‘Now Showing 2.0’ exhibition at Karin Weber Gallery. I imitated Tang Yin’s style and created the famous calligraphy couplets which appeared in the movie Flirting Scholar. The couplet work this time is from Tang’s The Song of Peach Blossom Cottage.

The couplet depicts the character of Tang who was carefree. It is about planting peach blossoms and selling them for money in order to buy wine. The second work, Merry Drunk, means drinking happily and freely. It is also related to wine and continues the meaning of the first work. This is the first time I added red wine to ink calligraphy. Together with the layering of ink and the champagne gold, it creates a very rich effect.
