The Renaissance was a splendid era of human exploration and truth-seeking. The works are maps with illustrations, highlighting two opposed belief systems in the Age of Exploration – flat earth against spherical earth. Fused with ancient and contemporary characters, the works have a timeless appeal and are full of vitality. The two beliefs symbolized opposite views – science against superstition, truth seeking against authority, human against God. They constituted the definition of world history and the evolution of human civilization.
Renaissance and the Age of Discovery have proven the theory of a spherical earth, which in turn illustrates the subtle relationship between the two eras. Driven by knowledge, wealth, religion, and desire, human beings discover the unknown areas on the map. What made up the border has now become the centre. Different cultures make contact with and influence each other. Conversations between science and fantasy become possible, exploring differences and integrating evolution with different perspectives.
